The Black Swan is a traditional cask ale pub and B&B located at the bottom of the High Street in the pretty village of Edwinstowe.
The Sherwood Forest Amusement Park and Visitors Centre are within a 12-minute walk. Around 20 miles north of Nottingham, Edwinstone is around 45 minutes’ drive from the historic city of Lincoln and Sheffield in South Yorkshire. There is a large public car park to the rear (free) and a small outside drinking area to the frontage which is popular with walkers and visitors to Sherwood Forest.
Inside the pub is very traditional with many old prints of Edwinstowe village. Cask Ales are a main feature of the pub, which is represented in the CAMRA Good Beer Guide. There are 5 real ales and ciders on sale including beers from local micro breweries such as Castle Rock, Nottingham Brewery, Blue Monkey and Welbeck Abbey from nearby Retford.
The pub also has 3 ensuite letting bedrooms which may be booked out on a long term or short break basis. They are simple rooms and prove very popular with contractors and walkers. Each room has a TV, wardrobe and tea and coffee facilities. Each room has an en suite shower.
This traditional pub serves a range of cask ales and provides free Wi-Fi and parking. There is a weekly Quiz Night every Thursday at 8pm and the pub offers regular entertainment.
