The Caldecott Arms is one of three pubs in the village of Long Lawford, which is approximately 2 miles from the town centre of Rugby. Inside, the atmosphere is typical for a village pub – friendly with a local community feel. Behind the bar is a decent selection of real ales and it is both children and dog friendly. There is a beer garden and a play area for the children out the back, to cater for all ages of the family. The pub offers a variety of live bands and entertainment on Fridays or Saturdays. For other entertainment there is a pool table, Sky TV and free Wi-Fi available.

The village is one of four Lawfords in the locality, and is named long because, historically, the village ran along the road between Rugby and Coventry. The other three Lawfords are Church Lawford, Little Lawford and Lawford Heath.

Recent archaeological excavations have found evidence that Long Lawford has been used as a settlement for 2000 years. Excavations of a Celtic Iron Age Village uncovered an Iron Age sword. The village is mentioned in the Doomsday Book referred to as Lelleford (The ford by the elders) and is also reputedly haunted by a one-armed spectre, known as One-handed Boughton.
